Pandemic day

a year agomtoday the WHO anounced thatnthe covid virus is officialy a pandemic. i have inclyded some images of that day to show where i was and what inwas doing. this last week has been very bad for the amount of rain we have had almost a whole week of rain. i have also included some images of the rain at my house. also this week we have seen that millions of doses of the covid vaccene have arrived and are being distributed to the cantons of Ecuador.

This week, prison riots

This week prison riots in three major cities, the riots were coordinated to happen at the same time. The authorities were quick to respond, evennso at this time there were 75 people lost their lives. not sure what prompted the riots.

Rain in summer adds to the life cycle

with the rain this week came a spert of growth in the garden and the skies. in the skies we were greated with the calls of a pair of falcons on an antena tower servaying the area for their kills. in the garden, strawberies radish onioun chillies peppers and more are breaking out and showing themselves to the world, saying come and eat me. the aromatics in the garden are working overtime pushing out their familular smels to the world.

New store in Salinas, just like Aldi

Here in Salinas there is a new store, this store opened just 2 months ago in the midest of the pandemic. the store is based on the euorpean store Aldi. no frills shelves are stocked with the goods in the boxes that the came in. the place when we went there had only two staff, it was very clean and air conditioned. the staff were very helpful which is a first for the coast, the prices were competitive. i have a couple of photos of the place and a link to the location with waze.
